Atmiya families celebrated colourful Holi festival at Dallas (Texas)

Dallas, Texas : Holi, the Festival of Colors or is a joyous occasion that celebrates the spirit of togetherness, love, and happiness. It's a time when people set aside their differences and come together to revel in the colors of life, holi is a popular festival celebrated by Hindus and non-Hindus also in many parts of the world. This festival usually falls in March, marking the end of spring and winter.

Holi symbolizes the victory of good over evil, commemorating the legend of Prahlad and Holika from Hindu mythology.

NRIs from the Atmiya Telugu organization in Dallas and nearby cities were immersed in vibrant colors and celebrated traditional Holi event. Around 500 people came and celebrated Holi and enjoyed the event along with their kids.

Event Venue: Heritage Park, Flower Mound has been selected as the venue for the Holi celebration by Atmiya team. It is a spacious outdoor park, which is colorful and more suitable for fun with children. The program started from 11 am and lasted till 4 pm in a beautiful atmosphere.

Decoration: The venue was decorated with traditional Indian clothes, colorful streamers and banners with Holi wishes. A stage has been set up for singing & dancing performances. Loudspeakers were set up for everyone to listen to the songs and DJ music was arranged with drums.

Colorful Attire: All the guests were given a white t-shirt with the Atmiya logo by the sponsors. All the guests wore a white t-shirt to showcase the bright colors of Holi. Some people came with sunglasses or goggles to protect their eyes from the colored powders.

Cultural performances: Cultural performances like Bollywood dance performances, keyboard playing, traditional folk dances, singing, dancing and live music were performed by children to entertain the guests and create a festive atmosphere throughout the event.

Games with colors: Around 500 LBs of organic and safe Holi colors were provided for guests and children to play with. All the guests & children painted each other and danced to Bollywood & mix of Telugu and Tamil songs in full swing of the event till the end of the event. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the songs and everyone got colored.
Colored powder is playfully thrown to all the guests at Holi celebrations to symbolize the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring.

Traditional Foods: Swathi & Rajesh Kallepalli family , owner of Indian Chilli, Flower Mound served delicious food to all the guests. A variety of dishes like vegetarian and non-vegetarian biryanis, pulao rice, chicken, mutton and prawns, egg fry, curd rice were lovingly served to all the guests till the end of the event. Suresh Lingineni served Nellore fish gravy made by himself and was a special treat for all the guests...Finally pizza, fruit chaat, chaat masala, gulab jamun, pakoda, tea, mango juice and cool drinks were served.

Games and Activities: Fun Holi themed games and activities like colored water, tug-of-war and tug-of-war with various games were organized for kids and adults with great fun.

Gifts for children: The organizers gifted headsets to the children who participated in the cultural program to encourage them.

Captured Memories : The media team captured photos and videos throughout the event to preserve the memories. Many guests captured memorable moments with friends and family to share with guests later as a reminder of the fun celebration. Drone coverage for the event was also done and captured the photographs from the sky.

Throughout the program children and adults had a happy and joyful time.
